Holiday Light Recycling

The Environmental Awareness Committee provides tips to live more sustainably encouraging people to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and to participate in outdoor activities and appreciation.

Especially during the winter, the EAC wants to remind you about our Winter Recycling Opportunities in the District-The Recycle Station currently accepts Eyeglasses, Ink Jet Toner Cartridges, plastic bottles and plastic grocery bags. Warrenville Park District recycle station is available for donation during office hours.

 Other Opportunities to Recycle-

  • Holiday Light Recycling will be available Now through the end of January
  • The Knights of Columbus Shoe Drive collects New and Gently Used Shoes, on behalf of Share your Soles year-round.

The designated Drop off location is in our Recreation Center Lower-Level Entry Hall

  • Winter Coats: Sizes 0-3 Months up to Adult Medium
  • Winter Hats, Gloves, Scarves
  • Winter Boots: Sizes Toddler up to adult 10
  • Sweaters/Sweatshirts: Sizes 0-3 Months up to Adult Medium

Wheaton Recycling Event, (second Sat each month) Time: 9am-Noon Location: Public Works Storage Yard, 820 W Liberty Drive, Wheaton (near the Wheaton Police Department)

Repair Fair on Repeat Gather your dull knives and tools, malfunctioning electronics, and chipped glassware and head to SCARCE on Saturday, January 24th from 9am-12noon! Experts will be on hand to repair and restore your favorite things.
